While most dads and daughters already share a special bond, there are some great gifts fathers can get their girls to help nurture that relationship and build mutual interests.
We have compiled a great selection of books, toys, games, and more that encourage quality time spent on daddy daughter dates and time together at home.

Thoughtful gifts for dads to give young daughters to build their bond
Book sets for Daddy bedtime stories
If you haven’t already, it’s a great tradition to start nighttime stories with kids of both genders. As a dad of only daughters currently though, storytime before bed is just one way I can bond with my girls. Some great books and series to read aloud to preschool and kindergarten age kids are:
- Hardy Boys
- A Wrinkle in Time
- The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings
- Anything by Isaac Asimov
- Piercing the Darkness
- C.S. Lewis books

STEM Board Games and toys to explore together
Being able to explore with our daughters is such a great way to build a bond between dad and child. And of course, beyond going on outdoor adventures, some tangible presents that can be wrapped and given include brain-building and problem-solving types of toys that also foster a love of STEM in girls.
Two games our family recommends are Robot Turtles and a set of Snap Circuits!
You can also find even more board games for toddlers and preschoolers from our friends here.
An age appropriate computer or video game
Games like Oregon Trail that are exciting for young kids to play and bring back memories for dad are of course always a hit. Of course, other options that are great for preschool and kindergarten age girls are Minecraft, number crunchers, and Odell Lake.
Vintage 80s & 90s toys for play time
A walk down memory lane is a great way to really nurture meaningful dad and daughter time together. So finding great throw back toys from the 80s and 90s is a way to make sure everyone is invested in the fun and play time.
A few of my favorite childhood toys are:
- Construx
- Legions of Power
- Spacerail / marble race deluxe

Daddy Movie Night Gift Basket
My oldest daughter and I love the movie Penguins of Madagascar. We could watch it over and over again. So building a special gift basket with a movie, popcorn to enjoy popping together, and a coupon for a special treat to share makes for a great daddy-daughter date night and is a gift that keeps on giving.
